Purpose

Under the direction of the assigned Operations Supervisor, oversee and participate in shipping, receiving, storing and retrieving inventory and supplies.  Maintains accurate records and prepares related reports. Support team and assists with training efforts.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Receives and unloads incoming materials
  • Counts and compares information on packing slip with purchase orders
  • Matches and validates paperwork to corresponding customer outbound orders
  • Counts, validates, scales and adjusts inventory, reporting errors and reasons for discrepancies
  • Identify damage, loss, or FOD of goods and materials stored or utilized within the warehouse
  • Fills and packages outbound shipments
  • Breaks down and re-boxes inventory
  • Processes shipments through FedEx and UPS
  • Provide ongoing guidance, training, encouragement and support to team members
  • Lead by example in professionalism, performance, appearance, and policy knowledge
  • Recognize conflict and escalate issues appropriately, assist in seeking solutions

Nature and Scope

The nature of this role is highly proactive and detail oriented.  The individual will be working in a fast paced environment and needs to maintain accuracy and a calm demeanor.  This is not a supervisory role; however, coaching skills are required to effectively communicate with supporting staff.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently need to lift, pull, or push up to 50 lbs, spend time in a warehouse that may not be temperature controlled, and experience noise and other distractions.

Background Experience and Qualifications

  • Excellent physical stamina and load lifting ability of at least 50 lbs
  • Proven ability to read, write and understand instructions
  • Verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills using tact, patience, courtesy and respect
  • Good record keeping, organizational and time management skills
  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word and email etiquette
