Are you an experienced logistics professional looking for a new challenge? We are seeking a Production Lead to join our team and help us streamline our processes. As our Production Lead, you will be responsible for coordinating the workload, ensuring all shipping and receiving tasks are completed in a timely and accurate manner as well as requisitions of transportation from freight carriers to ship our plant’s products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinates shipping and receiving workload.
- Reads shipping report and interprets orders to determine quantity and type of transportation needed.
- Searches for material already made and assist packaging material if needed.
- Prints sales order for special requirements.
- Weights material and performs creates packing lists and labels in SAP database.
- Contacts carrier representative to arrange and to issue instructions for loading products.
- Annotates shipping orders to inform shipping department of loading location and time of arrival of transportation.
- Performs other clerical tasks such as typing and mailing bills, typing correspondence, and keeping files.
- Assists materials packagers when needed.
- Approved and unloads tucks.
- Verifies actual quantities against packing slip.
- Signs trucking paperwork,
- Receives material in SAP into appropriate stock location.
- Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
- Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.
- Takes graphite flake samples
- Receives material to stock in SAP and SGL tools database.
- Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
- Routes items to departments.
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Software Programs such as Microsoft Office, SAP and Manufacturing Resource programs (MRP).
- Fluid English.
Education and/or Experience:
- Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.
- ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 experience preferred.
Group Coordinator Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, enforcing safety and company policies.
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
- Frequently required to sit; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
